Austenesque Reviews featured my Regency novel this month, and the responses are everything an author dreams of:
How unique and diverting! I look forward to reading this one.
I love the idea of exploring the Palmers’ story. Please enter me in the giveaway! The cover is very pretty, and I enjoyed the excerpt.
This sounds most entertaining. I love prequels, sequels, and side stories and the Palmers are certainly a study in opposites. I look forward to reading this.
It never once occurred to me to give the Palmers a second thought, and with that description, I now find myself needing to read all about them! What an incredibly creative idea, I can’t wait to read about Charlotte and Thomas!
That was quite a witty excerpt! I feel you had captured a bit of the wit of Austen which is required in Austenesque writing. I also loved your details as to the research you had to do and the difficulties of writing this piece. Thank you for sharing all these details.
This looks interesting! I’m excited to see how the Palmers are written!
Oh it is much intriguing.
I’ve always found Mrs. Palmer interesting. She and her sister, Lady Middleton were so different. And then their mother, Mrs. Jennings was a hoot. Thanks for giving voice to this secondary character in S&S. I look forward to reading it.
I always thought Mr Palmer was very a very Mr Bennetesque character. Charlotte sounds so sweet! I think this will be a very fun read.
Never seen a book focused on this couple. Congrats on the release!
Sounds fun.
Congratulations on your new book! It sounds lovely.
Beautiful cover & congrats on the new book.
Congratulations on your book. I would love to read it. The cover was beautiful!
I love the Palmers! What a great idea to write their story!
It’s about time someone paid attention to the Palmers. Congratulations on the book!
This sounds entertaining. I’m eager to see it. I’ll be picturing Hugh Laurie frowning throughout….
I’m looking forward to reading your book! The Palmers are an interesting couple and your excerpt shows you have done them justice!
Oh man, I would LOVE to read this book! So few JAFF authors take on the side characters (I haven’t yet myself, but I plan to in the future!). This sounds like a fun story (though I cannot imagine Elinor Dashwood spurning anyone; she’s too kind-hearted).

The final draft (where we quibble about commas and font shifts) is on my desktop. Thanks to Mint Hill Books, Southern Edge will be out soon!
Here’s a blurb to give you a taste:
Southern Edge, Nancy Martin-Young’s stunning collection of short stories, brings into the light all that we keep hidden—even from ourselves. With generosity, a deep and unflinching understanding of human nature, and a great deal of wit, these stories give us insight into who we are and why we matter in the world.
